“Mais Que Um Verão” (More than just a summer) is the new single – preceded by “Areia”, “Amanhecer” and “Amare”, the latter also released on 7” in its original and remixed versions – from the collaboration between the Ella and the Bossa Beat project and singer-songwriter Toco, a long-standing Schema Records artist. It is a modern Brazilian Popular Music (MPB – Música Popular Brasileira) song about a fleeting romantic encounter in the midst of the Brazilian summer.
Somewhere between modern sounds and ancestral rhythms from northern Brazil, “Mais Que Um Verão” ignites tropical and Amazonian vibes thanks to the groove forged by drummer and percussionist Magrus Borges (Ella’s father and co-founder of the project) which, in combination with Ella Blu’s delicate and dreamy voice, André Lafaete’s evocative guitar and Robson Barros’ sensual bass, creates a mysterious and compelling atmosphere.
This is another critical step towards the imminent release of Ella and the Bossa Beat’s first full-length album on Schema Records!
