“Fake Love” is the new single taken from “Prelude”, presented here in a special reworked version created exclusively for this release. Compared to the album version, this edit features a newly shaped vocal intro, a warmer and more dynamic mix, and a structure tailored for radio play.
Blending funk and soul at 100 BPM, the track showcases the distinctive, soulful voice of Julia St. Louis, evoking the vibrant spirit of the early ’90s British acid jazz era. The reggae-infused bassline, groovy drum patterns, and lush vocal harmonies create an irresistible flow that elevates the chorus and hooks the listener instantly.
Lyrically, “Fake Love” tells the story of a young woman deceived by a catfisher — someone hiding behind a false identity and empty promises — capturing the emotional dissonance between attraction and betrayal with elegance and groove.
