RARITIES & OUTTAKES EP2

In anticipation of the Milanese duo The Dining Rooms’ new album, due in early 2024, Stefano Ghittoni and Cesare Malfatti release the second part of their ‘Rarities & Outtakes’ EP series, digitally available from 29 September 2023.

First, this second volume starts with an unreleased track (“Tina Abramovich-Smith – A Story”) written by The Dining Rooms together with Bruno Dorella and Emma Tricca, guests on guitar and vocals respectively. It is the story of Tina and is an intimate ballad set in American clubs frequented by beatniks between late ’50s and early ’60s.

Then we have a remix of the song “Nella sua loca realtà (feat. Lola Kola)”, taken from the album “Art Is A Cat” (2020). Lola Kola is the singer of the Tropicantesimo collective, who collaborates on this remix with Marco Foresta of the Fabio Fabio electronic music project, on Ivreatronic record label.

The EP closes with an extended instrumental version of “Ink” by The Cinematic Orchestra which has never been unveiled until now. Also present in a short version in The Dining Rooms’ remixes album “Other Ink” (2008), on this occasion “Ink” shines again thanks to its majestic orchestration that further emphasises the beauty and uniqueness of this track.
