“This is What You Are” is a ’60s styled jazz crooner with the rich, loungey voice of Mario Biondi riding over 4/4 kicks with a subtle Latin undertone reflected both in the percussion and horns. Its modern, dancefloor sensibility is in perfect tone with its classic jazz style.

The B-side finds Was A Bee performing the jazz standard “On a Clear Day (you can see forever)”. Its flavor works in the soul jazz space but should catch the ears of any old school hip-hop fans. The beat is slow rolling while the tone is funky and smooth, in perfect accent to the soulful and at times, slightly gravely voice of Mario Biondi.
